Pumpkins & Porches!

BY Regan Hewitt

It is officially fall and Collierville in Bloom and the Town of Collierville have partnered to bring some fall fun to the Town with “Pumpkins and Porches,  an Autumn Tour!” Since pumpkin patches and the other festivities that usually happen this time of year are closed due to COVID-19 precautions, the Town has decided to bring some joy to their citizens by bringing them together through pumpkins.

“Pumpkins and Porches, an Autumn Tour” will run from Friday, October 23 to November 1. Participants are encouraged to decorate their porch with pumpkins and other fall decorations so families can enjoy the fall season. This tour gives parents a chance to get their kids out to see decorations while still remaining safe. And who doesn’t love decorating? Those who wish to participate can get the whole family involved by pumpkin carving, painting or other fun DIY activities that are safe for kids. Decorations can go beyond pumpkins and other fall foliage and can be spooky Halloween decorations or Thanksgiving-themed.

If you would like to add your house to the tour, you can submit a form listing your home on the Town’s tour map by October 16. You can download the form here, or on the Town of Collierville website’s homepage. To fill out the form, you will need to save it to your device before you complete it, and then you can email the form to Ashley Carver, Collierville’s Tourism Director, at acarver@colliervilletn.gov

For more information on “Pumpkins and Porches, an Autumn Tour,” or if you would like to find some places to purchase all of your decorating needs, visit the Collierville in Bloom Facebook page. There you will receive reminders and other helpful information!

Everyone here at Tour Collierville is looking forward to seeing everyone’s fall decor!
