We are so excited to congratulate local and much loved Collierville mailman, Demetrius Hobson, on his new promotion! 

Hobson has worked as a mailman for 15 years, and during that time, many Collierville community members, business owners and families got to know him so well. As Candy Craig, owner of C.J. Lilly & Co., said, “I don’t think I have ever seen Demetrius without a smile on his face. He has a kind and giving spirit that is infectious. He is part of our ‘family’ and a bright spot in our work day.” 

On December 31, 2020, Hobson’s last day as a mailman, local stores and businesses around the Collierville Town Square decorated their windows to give him the send-off he deserved! Signs and chalkboards expressed their appreciation for Hobson’s service, wished him well and told Hobson how much they would miss him.  

In a Facebook post that showed his socially distanced send-off, Hobson wrote: 

“My customers, friends, and coworkers filled my heart today. I did shed a tear or two. If you knew how much I care for them, then you would understand the tears. I’m lost for words. I do know I will miss you all. I appreciate all that you have done for me and my family. I know I can’t see you all everyday anymore but I know where to come when I need to see you all. It’s been a great journey. I wouldn’t trade it for nothing. I love you all from the bottom of my heart. Collierville you will always be a part of me no matter where I go.” 

Hobson will now serve as a member of the Postal Inspection Service. Everyone here at Tour Collierville Magazine wishes him all the best!
