Don’t wait until the first game to cheer on your Collierville High School Dragons! Collierville High’s football team will be hosting their annual Dragon Night, Saturday August 3 at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the new Lander’s Sportsplex. This event will have performances from multiple school groups, concessions and fun for all ages.
Don’t let the name confuse you – known for years as Dragon Day, a simple time change of the event is the only difference you’ll notice! Originally Dragon Day started out as a gathering opportunity for team photos, and has since expanded to showcase other groups that play a role in making CHS football games such an exciting event!
“We are excited to take command of the field to kickoff Dragon Day,” says Director of Bands, Thomas Richardson. “The band has worked over 150 hours over the summer preparing for their competition season and they are looking forward to Saturday’s event! It is such an honor to direct these dedicated and talented musicians and performers. ”
The event will have performances from the Collierville Middle School’s cheer and dance teams, and the High School’s Cheer and Pom teams, as well as the feature Twirlers. There will be a presentation of the football team. Attendees will be able to grab season tickets and purchase or pick up their pass! Dragon apparel and yard signs will be sold as well!
“Our players, coaches, and I are fired up about Dragon Day. We can’t wait,” says Football Head Coach Joe Rocconi. “It’s a great opportunity to kick off the football season and school year. There are a million things that put Collierville schools and athletics above all. One of those things is our loyal, supportive and passionate community! I hope to see the entire Town of Collierville at Dragon Day supporting your hometown teams from our youth, middle school and high school programs.”
Support your dragons as they kick off another amazing year at Dragon Night!
