Collierville Classic Car Show Supports CEF

BY Regan Hewitt

The Collierville Classic Car Show, presented by the Collierville Police Department, is back! This Saturday, September 18th, from 7:30am-3:00pm, come out to Central Church for a family friendly (and free) fundraiser that features music, food trucks and classic cars.

Sponsored by Landers Ford, the car show benefits the Collierville Education Foundation (CEF). Since 2009, the Collierville Police Department has donated the proceeds from this community event, with an average of $23,000 per year, to the CEF.

“I’ve been with CEF since 2001 and the car show is the best event we have,” said Terri O’Connor, the CEF managing director.  “It’s a family event and it is so satisfying to see families, car owners, volunteers and the Collierville Police Department come together to raise money for Collierville schools.”

Cars, trucks, tractors, military vehicles, fire trucks and bikes are welcome at the show! Owners can preregister their vehicles at colliervillecarshow.com/register or day-of registration begins at 7:30am and ends at noon.  The entry fee is $25. Registered participants will automatically be entered into a drawing to win cash prizes. Specialty plaques will be awarded by Landers Ford, CEF, Central Church and Mayor Stan Joyner.

The mission of the Collierville Education Foundation is to promote academic excellence in the Collierville Schools by generating and distributing grants directly to teachers to further enrich, enhance and expand every child’s education. CEF is a nonprofit organization that has awarded over $1.2 million in grants to Collierville public school teachers.
