Calling All Hometown Heroes!

BY Regan Hewitt

Calling all hometown heroes! The Town of Collierville is seeking pictures and short videos (10 seconds or less) from Collierville residents who are proud of the veterans and active-duty service members in their lives.

Images and videos will be featured in a special media presentation during the 35th annual Independence Day Celebration on July 3rd. The deadline for submission is Friday, June 25th.

In your submission, please include the name, rank and branch of your service member. Simply hold up or make your own “Hometown Hero” sign, and take a picture with the veteran(s) and/or active-duty service members in your life. No fancy backdrop needed – just friends, family and your hometown hero. If your hero cannot be there in person, hold up a picture!

You can pick up a “Hometown Hero” sign (as pictured above) to show off in your submission, from the Town Hall, the Parks Administration Office or the Depot Visitors Center on the Collierville Town Square. These offices are open from 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday!

Photographs and videos can be submitted to Ashley Carver by email: acarver@colliervilletn.gov. If you have any questions, please call (901) 457-2667.

The Independence Day Celebration will take place Saturday, July 3 at HW Cox Park starting with food vendors at 6:30 PM, entertainment at 7:00 PM and the fireworks show at 9:30 PM.
