New Year, New Library Programs

Welcome to 2021! For the first month of the new year, Collierville Burch Library is offering some amazing new programs for the Collierville community. All programs and events will be held over Zoom to comply with current Shelby County health directives regarding COVID-19. Make sure to take advantage of these opportunities and sign up now by visiting the library’s website

January 11 – Managing Behaviors Class for Teachers & Parents Session 1: Logical Expectations

Join the Collierville Library virtually for classes about resources and strategies specifically for parents and teachers. The month of January, they will be offering two sessions on managing behavior, led by MAZ Resources. In this first session, MAZ Resources, an educational business that equips all ages with self-management skills, will share the most helpful ways to establish proper expectations for your child or student. January 16 – Power of Breath Meditation

Certified yoga and meditation instructor Renuka Reddy will teach you about the healing and calming power of breath for peace of mind. Zoom in to learn more about how breath can restore you. Registration opens January 1, and the information for the Zoom meeting will be emailed to participants before the meeting.

January 23 – Creating and Maintaining Flower Beds with the Master Gardeners

It feels like the dead of winter, but before we know it, spring will be here! It is already time to think about your flower beds. Zoom in to this session with the Master Gardeners to discover the tricks and trades of immaculate flower beds. Registration opens January 6, and the information for the Zoom meeting will be emailed to registrants before the program.

Join the Collierville Library virtually for classes about resources and strategies specifically for parents and teachers. Correcting your child or student is never easy, but MAZ Resources is here to teach parents/teachers how to correct using logic in this Zoom session. Registration opens January 11. January 28 – Remarkable Readers Classics Book Club

Calling all classic lovers, bibliophiles, and conversationalists! Here is a book club for you! This group will dive into the world of literary classics, and will meet on the last Thursday of each month at 3pm. Their first meeting will be January 28, 2021 through Zoom, and their first book will be Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Copies will be available at the library. To put a copy on hold, please call 901-457-2600. Registration opens online on the 1st of the month.

January 30 – Cactus and Succulents Class with the Master Gardeners

Avoid the pricks of caring for your cactus or succulent with the knowledge you will gain in this Master Gardener Zoom session. Registration opens January 6, and the information for the Zoom meeting will be emailed to registrants before the program.
