Collierville Library’s Upcoming March Programs

The Collierville Burch Library is offering some great virtual and in-person programs for adults in March! From learning about meditation to improving your social media skills, the library has a program for just about any interest. So, scroll through this list of upcoming events and see what you can find: 

March 8 – Problem Solving Skills for Parents and Teachers Class 1: Mazes and Maps for the Brain

This month, learn how to build problem solving skills in your children and students with MAZ Resources, an educational business that equips individuals of all ages and abilities to self-manage. The first class will discuss how to use mazes and maps to develop the brain. The topics will include: spatial vocabulary, mapping information, completing tasks, and following directions to name a few. Be sure to join us on March 8th from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm in the Halle Room to learn how to strengthen problem solving skills in your children and maybe even in yourself! Registration opens February 22. Adherence to social distancing and face masks will be required.

March 11 – Adult Spanish Class

Join us Thursday, March 11, 2021 for Spanish class for adult beginners. The class will be divided into two groups: Group A and B. Group A will meet in the first hour from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. Group B will meet from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm. Participants will be notified which group they are in by email. More information can be found on the Library’s Events Calendar.

March 17 – Facebook 101

Attend this computer class to learn the basics of Facebook. Learn how to create an account, browse, and maintain your profile in this class. The class will be held on March 17, 2021 from 3:30 pm – 5 pm and will be limited to 4 participants. Registration will open on March 3. 

March 20 – Happiness through Meditation

To celebrate the International Day of Happiness, Zoom in to this session of chair yoga, breathing, and meditation, focused on happiness, hosted by Renuka Reddy. Register online at the Library’s Events Calendar starting March 5 for our happiness themed meditation on March 20, 2021 at 3 pm.

March 22 – Problem Solving Skills for Parents and Teachers Class 2: Processing Thoughts, Ideas, and Opinions

This month, learn how to build problem solving skills in your children and students with MAZ Resources, an educational business that equips individuals of all ages and abilities to self-manage. Join us on March 22, 2021 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm in the Halle Room to learn how to help your children and students process information in a world of information overload. Registration opens March 8. Adherence to social distancing and face masks will be required.

March 23 – Moles with the Master Gardeners

How do you protect your garden against this particular type of unwanted visitors – moles? Join this Zoom session with the Master Gardeners to find out! The class will be held on March 23, 2021 at 5 pm, and registration opens March 9.

March 25 – Adult Spanish Class

March 25 – Remarkable Readers Book Club

The Remarkable Readers Book Club dives into the world of literary classics and meets on the last Thursday of each month through Zoom. We will meet at 3 pm on March 25, 2021 to discuss this month’s book Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. Copies of this book are available at the Library. To put one on hold, please call 901-457-2601. Registration opens online on the 1st of the month for 6 people.

March 31 – Instagram 101

Become versed in the ways of Instagram in this class at the Library. Learn about accounts, posts, and stories – everything you need to scroll through Instagram. Registration begins March 17 for this class on March 31 from 3:30 pm – 5 pm. The class will be limited to 4 participants. Face masks and adherence to social distancing are required.
