The Collierville Citizens Police Association will host a Pancake Breakfast at Central Church on Saturday, May 15, from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

The breakfast benefits the Collierville Police Department’s Explorer Post #0955. The Explorer program allows teenagers aged 14 through 20 to explore law enforcement as a career choice. Participants work special assignments, assist in all divisions of the CPD and have opportunities to visit other police departments and criminal justice systems. The Explorer program is promoted by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the National Sheriffs’ Association and the Exploring division of the Boy Scouts of America. Three of Collierville‘s current police officers – Captain Kenneth Rowlett, Lieutenant Christopher Rossie and Lieutenant Josh Wheeler – took part in the Explorer program before making the decision to pursue police work as a career.

The Collierville Citizens Police Association (CCPA) is an alumni association for residents who have gone through the Collierville Citizens Police Academy, an organization which educates the public on the daily duties and challenges of law enforcement officers by having them role play scenes that police officers face every day. Members of the CCPA support the CPD by fundraising for programs like the Explorers.
