Collierville
Greenbelt
Designed
for the construction of over 60 miles of trails
and sidewalks connecting parks, schools, neighborhoods
and commercial districts - the Greenbelt truly
enhances the beauty of the Town. The trail
runs along laterals of the famous Wolf River,
preserving natural vegetation and providing
protected wildlife habitats.
Bikers,
Walkers, Runners and Bird-Watchers have easy
access from many points within the Collierville
community and playgrounds provide additional
fun for children. The Greenbelt is operated
by the Collierville Parks, Recreation &
Cultural Arts Department. General information,
tours and maps are available year round.
A unique aspect of the Collierville Greenbelt System is the Peterson Lake Nature Complex. The 70-acre nature complex, when completed, will include a series of boardwalks, waterfowl & wildlife observation decks and wetland study areas. The Complex is an integral part of Collierville's effort to preserve over 2,000 acres of the Wolf River Corridor. All boardwalks are wheelchair accessible.
