It Starts with a Square

Fully Alive

BY Sarah Comeau

We all like NEW. The newest iPhone, electronics, cars, clothes, house…the list could go on and on.
There is something about newness – It’s Refreshing. Energizing. Captivating. New is forgetting what was and embracing what’s ahead.

This time of year we not only see NEW, we experience it with all of our senses. Springtime births the newness of creation – and It. Is. Glorious.

Leaves sprout new on trees, new flowers display their beauty, new critters make their entrance into the world. It’s a season for new growth that is celebrated by people around the world with festivals and fairs. I love Spring.

The newness of Spring brings to mind this verse from the Bible…

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:
The old has gone, the new is here!
(2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV).

What does that mean?
Quite simply, if we KNOW Him (Jesus), he changes us. God’s work done through Jesus on the cross, and his miraculous resurrection, was done for you and me. The old you is gone, and the new you is here.

Really?
Yep, no question. We are no longer defined by our past mistakes or our current struggles. Instead, you are the son or daughter of the King. Did you hear that? If you know Him, you are His!

Easter Sunday is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus – an earth-shattering love-filled miracle of epic proportions. The invitation of the resurrection redefines our past and gives us hope for a new future, every day.

Here at Highpoint Collierville we pray that our lives intersect Jesus in a way that fills us with His love. In fact, we say often that we exist to prove that Love Works. You see, we believe that only through Jesus can love conquer all of our shortcomings and circumstances.

We pray this Easter season, that you are abundantly aware of the newness around you and you experience the transformative power of Jesus and His love like never before.
