Collierville Library’s “Spring Chicks” Programs

BY Regan Hewitt

Welcome to spring! The Collierville Burch Library has lots of fun spring programs for children of all ages. Here’s what they will be offering for March & April:

Sunday March 14th – Easy As Pi

From 1-5pm, children in 5th grade and under can pick up a DIY S’more Pie kit! This kit does require participants to have an oven. Please register in advance via the library’s events calendar – registration opens on February 28th.

Saturday March 20th – Wing Into Spring

From 11am-5pm, children in 5th grade and under can pick up a special spring take-and-make kit! This kit has all the supplies needed to create a bird nest sign, so you can wish everyone a happy spring. Registration for this event opens March 6th on the library’s events calendar.

Friday March 26th – Behind The Beans

From 10am-6pm, children in 5th grade and under can celebrate Ag Week with this fun Behind The Beans take-and-make project! Inside, you’ll find everything needed to grow your own bean plant at home, as well as information and educational activities about farming and how plants grow. Register for this event in advance using the library’s events calendar by March 12th.

Thursday April 29th – May Day Baskets

From 10am-5:30pm, enjoy the traditions of a May Day basket! For children in 5th grade and under, the library is offering a May Day basket kit, where you can use the supplies to make a gift basket for someone special and then drop it off without them noticing. Registration opens April 15th and the pick-up date allows for a couple days to complete the basket before May Day arrives.

Make sure to check the library’s website and calendar for updates to these events, and to follow state, county and town COVID-19 guidelines while participating in them.
